Depends. For exploring the island (days 4 and 5) a car is very useful. For other days, you can get around on foot or by bus. Rental from €25/day at the airport.

Does this itinerary work for families?

Yes, with small adjustments. Add Museo Elder (interactive), Poema del Mar (aquarium) and more beach time. Reduce long walks.

What if I only have 5 days?

Eliminate days 4 and 5 or combine them into one (just Maspalomas or just the North). Keep the beach and culture days.

Can everything be done without a car?

Yes, but excursions are more complicated. There are buses to Maspalomas (line 30, 1h 15min) and organised tours to the north.
